CFO – Nonprofit Organization
Marimed Foundation, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to support our financial operations on a contract (or Part Time employee) basis for 5–10 hours per month. This is a flexible, remote position ideal for a professional with nonprofit finance experience looking to contribute their expertise in a meaningful way.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage budgets for grant proposals and reporting
Oversee fiscal operations and ensure compliance
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Ensure timely payroll tax payments and filings
Prepare and submit grant billing
Attend remote board meetings (monthly or quarterly)
Maintain strict confidentiality with all financial and organizational information
Provide additional support during the organization’s annual external fiscal audit (may require increased hours during this period)
Qualifications:
Proven experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, or similar roles
Knowledge of grant budgeting, billing, and reporting
Familiarity with payroll tax obligations and nonprofit compliance
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity

Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience
