An accounting assistant position is open with our well established construction and residential management company in Kailua Kona. This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, 7am - 3:30pm. As an accounting assistant, you will collaborate with our accounting manager on a daily basis for various aspects of the bookkeeping, billing, and financials. Applicants must have data entry and accounting experience in a professional setting that includes strength in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook. The ideal candidate is a team player with an aptitude for learning, attention to detail, accuracy, strong work ethic, reliability and a positive attitude.
Requirements & Skills:
- Produce accurate, timely and valuable work
- Must pay attention to detail
- Proven working experience as an accounting clerk
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and/or accounting principles
- Data entry skills
- Proficiency in MS office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficiency in 10-Key by touch
Responsibilities:
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including receiving, verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Understand expense accounts and job profit centers
- Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
- Create monthly customer invoices according to company practices
- Copy, file and retrieve materials for accounts receivable as needed
- Additional administrative support as needed or as requested by managers
