A Diesel Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, and repairs diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts, and trailers. Their main duties include running diagnostic tests on vehicles, replacing the vehicles’ engine, transmission, steering mechanism or braking system and test driving the vehicle to determine if they properly fixed the maintenance issue.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when and where required.

2. Using the correct power, machine, and hand tools properly with correct PPE.

3. Review work orders to evaluate the task required.

4. Completes a detailed inspection report and includes repair plans.

5. Running Diagnostic tests and preparing a replan based on issues.

6. Test engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with federal and state

vehicle requirements.

7. Repairing engine failures, electrical and mechanical system malfunctions, and body repair and replacement of parts

& components.

8. Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignments, and brake checks.

9. Maintaining equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting

malfunctions, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance, and calling

for repairs when necessary.

10. Maintaining records of parts used to service vehicles in paper or electronic form to

maintain correct inventory status.

11. Keep the shop area clean and organized to help create a safe work environment.

12. Adhering to Company rules policies and procedures,

13. Completing any other assigned duties based on business needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. 3+ years of experience.

2. Valid Class C Texas driver’s license.
