Seed Orchard Specialist (Forest Seedlings)

ABOUT THE ROLE:We're seeking a dynamic and driven Seed Orchard Specialist to join our team in Moultrie, GA, and become a vital part of our mission to produce the highest quality, genetically improved seed. The position will participate in the management of seed orchards to produce the highest quality seed of genetically improved southern pines. Activities include orchard establishment and maintenance, grafting, fertilizer and herbicide application, controlled mass pollination (CMP) production and cone harvest. This position will require up to 40% overnight travel.  Creativity and innovation are welcomed to help look for ideas that make the Company operations and procedures more efficient and effective.Key Accountabilities of the Orchard Specialist:Play a key role in CMP production effortsCare of orchards, equipment, and facilities for development of future cone cropsOperation of tractors, forklift, aerial boom lift, UTVs, chainsaws, and power tools.Work with internal and external resources to achieve production and research objectives in a safe, efficient mannerMaintain detailed recordsEncourage innovation and continuous improvementPromote collaboration and teamwork at all levelsCommunicate with honesty, kindness and respectSet targets (i.e., production, timelines) and evaluate achievementLOCATION: Moultrie, GeorgiaWORK STATUS: Full-time, Hourly,Weekdays and weekends as needed, especially during our busiest times of the year.
