Description: The Marietta Process Control department is a new department that will oversee Marietta Special Processes. They will provide on-the-ground, real-time support to the various fabrication groups and will be the liaison between Fabrication and Engineering. This group will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of process documents, will aid in the training and certification of various fabrication team members, work with various quality departments to ensure a quality product, and be the practical arm of the Materials and Process Engineering group to ensure that requirements are being met in the production environment. This group will be located in Marietta but will be part of a larger Fort Worth Process Control group.A Process Control Material and Process Engineer may be asked to perform the following:Evaluate new weld and welding adjacent processesAid and evaluate welding process and welder certifications (PQRs and WBSs)Evaluate NDI weld results and production issuesProvide support and training on various welding technical topicsInvestigate materials and/or processes as requested by customers and document findings in Process Control Investigation Reports (PCIRs).Author and maintain Process Standard documents.Photograph and archive equipment and/or assembly parts for investigations requested by customers.Perform engineering specification and documentation technical reviews.Provide technical support and problem resolution of supplier materials, parts, and processes.Provide technical support and problem resolution during corrective action activities.Provide technical support during audits.Read and understand assembly blueprints.Evaluate salt fog testing of metals, coatings, and composites.Deliver and track equipment during periodic calibration evolutions.Participate and/or lead in Structured Improvement Activity (SIA) teams for continuous improvement events.Data management using TALON testing database.Perform dimensional measurements using molding compound and optical comparators.Operation of hardness and conductivity equipment for metallic material analysis.Operation of microscopes, metallographic and photographic equipment.Provide technical support and problem resolution for manufacturing floor processes.What’s In It For YouOur employees play an active role in strengthening the quality of life where we live and work by volunteering more than 850,000 hours annually. STEM, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy degrees will also be considered, but must have experience in Welding and/or Material Joining Technologies.Desired Skills: Professional Certification: Certifications such as Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspection (CWI) from the American Welding Society (AWS) or similar credentials can be highly beneficial and sometimes required. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in various welding techniques (TIG, Spot, etc.), and common materials (Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Inconel, Titanium, etc.), understanding of metallurgy, materials properties, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience: Hands-on experience in welding and fabrication is crucial. This may include internships or previous job roles in manufacturing, construction, or a related industry. Experience or Technical Knowledge: Aerospace welding technologies and welding of thin-walled parts desired, but not required. Experience or Technical Knowledge: Miller Dynasty 210 Welder or similar. Safety Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of safety standards and procedures, including OSHA regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Quality Control: Skills in inspection methods and quality assurance processes relevant to welding. Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques can be a plus. Project Management: Ability to manage projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overseeing staff and resources. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve welding issues during project execution. Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and clients.
