Job Description
What Would You Do? The Specifics- Repairs/refurbishes optical equipment. Dismantles, rebuilds, and cleans equipment.
- Evaluates ophthalmic exam equipment following predetermined protocols. Determines if equipment is repairable or should be processed out of the system.
- Installs and maintains the local training room exam equipment.
- Handles local store service calls. Conducts on-site visits to install equipment, repair equipment or swap out equipment. Works with the vendor's technical team to resolve equipment issues, and gathers equipment information.
- Troubleshoots network issues as it pertains to the automated exam equipment.
- Maintains written troubleshooting documentation as new issues and solutions arise. Enhances and streamlines repair processes.
- Processes equipment movement in the inventory system, Microsoft Dynamics (EAM).
- Prepares new store opening’s optical equipment for shipment as necessary. Packs and palletizes equipment when needed.
- Assists with special projects and off-site events. Attends vendor training when applicable.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred
- 2+years of experience in a technical field or mechanical trade Advanced Mechanical knowledge and application Low Volt/networking knowledge Electronics knowledge required Optical experience a plus
