You will ensure consults meet eligibility requirements for
dispositioning for network care.
You will provide specific advice concerning eligibility
requirements, costs borne by beneficiaries, exclusions of
certain disease or conditions.
You will obtain authorization for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries.
You will use interview skills and discretion to elicit
additional information from patients that could affect medical
staff.
You will review all consults for Non-Prime patients being
disengaged to network for possible coverage under other health
insurance or changes in status of beneficiaries.
You will ensure disengaged patients receive a disengagement
letter from the with their consult to obtain medical care.
You will utilize the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) to
track and manage consults, ROFRs and CLRs.
You will maintain established files in accordance with
established procedures.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of
retired military members within 180 days immediately following
retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the

You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment
physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or
final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to
obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result

QualificationsThis position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per
minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the
Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification
determination.GS-06:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized
experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in
the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or
public sector:
- Experience serving as a point of contact on matters relating to
health benefits programs and meeting eligibility requirements
for network care.
- Experience providing advice concerning exclusions for certain
diseases or conditions and coordination of benefits when other
insurance is involved.
- Experience assisting beneficiaries and providers of care
concerning requirements for per-authorizations.
- Experience utilizing the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) or
similar system to track statistical information and specialty
care referrals.GS-07:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized
experience experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or
pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the
private or public sector:
- Experience managing specialty care referrals by optimizing
utilization of the direct care system.
- Experience obtaining consults results for care deferred to the
network and notify providers of unexecuted referrals.
- Experience ensuring appropriate level of care from appropriate
provider is cost effective.
- Experience interviewing beneficiaries on the benefits,
responsibilities and entitlements regarding direct care system
and other health benefits programs available.
- Experience keeping current of changes to health benefits
programs and policies that impact beneficiaries' access to
