Azure Data & Cloud Engineer

Onyx Strategic Insights, a division of Expeditors, is seeking an Azure Data & Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. This hybrid role is essential to delivering robust, secure, and high-performance data solutions that power our analytics and product development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering and cloud architecture, with a passion for automation, optimization, and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse AnalyticsLead or support the integration of new external data sources as needed.Build and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver clean, reliable datasets for analytics and machine learning.Automate deployment and monitoring of data workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all pipelines and storage layers.Optimize performance and cost of Azure resources, including compute, storage, and networking.Maintain documentation for data pipelines, cloud architecture, and operational procedures.Support incident response, backup, and disaster recovery planning.Stay current with Azure services and best practices, and recommend improvements to the data platform.
