How will you power what’s possible?Location: CTONADAMSONSQSouthwire Job DescriptionThis executive will be responsible for managing the product strategy, investments, partnerships and product marketing to achieve the objectives of volume growth, sales and gross margin targets. In this role you will continue to build out a team of Product Strategy and Product Managers with functional and industry expertise and establish a more formal set of product lifecycle processes. You will also be in charge new product introduction, product improvements and product innovation. The successful candidate must have the presence and presentation skills to represent Southwire in front of Southwire leadership, customers, prospects and industry groups. You must also have the industry knowledge and experience to establish and communicate a long-term vision for the Infrastructure products and inspire confidence within Southwire and among our customers and partners.Responsibilities:Work with the senior executives of Wire and Cable to set a vision and strategy for the Infrastructure products, aligning with contemporary business models and market trends.Define and implement a product vision for each product line, and for each market that the product is sold into; establish current and long-range product objectives, ROI analysis, plans, and policies; own product roadmaps.Communicate the vision and key messages to engineering, sales, operations, R&D, agents and customersDevelop, document and communicate a portfolio analysis for the Utility Products, leading to make/buy/partnership decisions.Achieve global growth objectives and overseeing the P&L metrics: bookings, revenue growth, gross profit and operating income (EBIT)Manage and develop a team of product strategy and management professionals.Develop business cases for R&D investment for new product introductions, evolutionary features and enhancements and sustaining of existing products.Collaborate with Applications Engineering to make sure our products not only comply with all industry standards but also develop strategies for product differentiation and create competitive advantagesPartner with the VP of Manufacturing, VP of Corporate Materials Planning and VP of Logistics, and develop strategies and roadmaps for key service metrics, inventory plans and serviceCollaborate with executive peers in the corporate strategy process and ensure alignment with all product strategy plans.Study the market we serve and the competitive landscape. Understand at deep level our products’ differentiation as compared to needs, trends and competition.Engage with customers and prospects to share our vision and learn their business needs.Establish a comprehensive product lifecycle process from strategic planning to tactical activities.Work with sales and marketing team members to create the content and tools needed to successfully sell, implement and service the productsEvaluate, perform due diligence on, recommend, negotiate, onboard and manage partnerships with value-added product offerings.Drive effective communications throughout the organization; work collaboratively with the marketing, sales, development, support, and implementation teams.Key Success Factors:Volume growthGross margin and profitability improvement for the businessOTIFDays of Sales in InventoryReturn on InventoryEmployee engagementMarket share, mind share leadershipProduct vitalityCollaborative working relationships with peer business and functional stakeholdersQualificationsA Bachelors Degree is required; a Masters Degree in Business or Engineering is preferred10+ years of experience in wire and cable sales, operations or product development5+ years of experience working as a Director leading teams of at least 5 peopleProven experience leading a P&L segment, multi-million budgetsExperience and ability to develop and position market messages, market segmentation and pricing strategiesExecutive presence, excellent communication and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to drive a strategic planning process as well as manage large complex projects.Cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to make critical decisions and influence others.Creative problem-solver, with ability to work independently and drive for results.Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
