Can you lift 60-100 lbs. like it's nothing? Are you built for the tough-to-do labor work that not everyone can handle? Our work is outdoors, too, and will put your physical strength to the test.
We need a Guardrail Repair Technician to help repair sections of guardrail along the highway that have been damaged in vehicular accidents. This includes the installation of safety cables and crash cushion attenuators. Sound easy? It's anything but. Keep in mind, you'll be slamming sledge hammers and carrying and placing heavy sections of thick steel, oh, and you'll be doing all of it in the elements. It might be sunny, rainy or beautiful outside, but no matter the weather, traffic will be flying by since the work is along the highway. Safety is our top priority; being alert and aware are requirements at all times.
Other Responsibilities
Layout, install and dismantle guardrail as required
Attend daily safety meetings
Erect, install, or repair guardrail, cable barrier, post and cable, crash cushion attenuators, and other appurtenances using hand tools and power tools
Load and remove materials from truck and equipment maintenance
Skid Steer operation
Comply with all OSHA, DOT and DBi Services Safety Policies
We also do emergency response and MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) to assist first responders with accidents and other major emergencies, where you will set-up cones around the area to help direct traffic, using your trucks lights and arrow board to keep people alert.
We will keep you busy and overtime is likely. Just make sure you have jeans, steel-toe boots and a safety-focused get-it-done attitude. We’ll give you the rest of the gear you need aka PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), but you’ve got to be punctual to work with our crews! We start around 6:30 a.m. and the day wraps up when the work is done. Note: There is an on-call requirement, where on your rotation, you will take home a truck and have to respond to emergencies.
