As we grow under new ownership, we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Cobbler/Technician/Shoe Repair Artist to join our team and bring expert hands-on experience to our busy repair shop.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced cobbler or technician with a minimum of 7 years of directly relevant or transferable trade experience. The ideal candidate is confident using equipment for traditional and modern repair techniques, takes pride in precision work, and enjoys contributing to a culture of quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of repairs including but not limited to:
Heel and sole replacement (leather, rubber, Vibram, etc.)
Stitching, patching, and refinishing leather
Zipper replacement and hardware repairs
Cleaning, conditioning, and polishing shoes and boots
Work with leather goods including handbags, belts, and other accessories
Maintain tools, machinery, and workspace in excellent working order
Engage with customers professionally when needed and help provide repair estimates
Support ongoing training of junior staff or apprentices, if applicable
Requirements:
7+ years of trade experience
Willingness and excitement to learn new skills and techniques
High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and collaborative attitude
Bonus if you have:
Proven cobbling or shoe/leather repair experience including demonstrated expertise in using repair machinery (finisher, press, stitcher, etc.)
Bilingual (English + Spanish)
Additional skills in upholstery, tailoring, or similar handcraft trades
