I need someone with home construction experience to help me finish a house I'm building for myself. The house is framed and dried in, and I have 3.5 months to complete everything from insulation through finishes. I intend to work myself every weekend (all Saturday/Sunday) but need someone reliable to continue the work during the week. I also have a budget for a $22/hour helper for 7 of these 14 weeks to help you with heavy lifting, clean-up, taping off, etc. etc. If you know someone you'd like to work with, please let me know, otherwise I'll be sending another Craiglist ad or we'll be interviewing people outside the Home Depot.
I'm paying by milestones, not by time, otherwise we'll never finish. The schedule I've created should be realistic, provided that we stay on task. My budget is pretty much exhausted so be advised that these values are non-negotiable.
In addition to self-performing the paint, flooring, cabinet installation, etc., I'll need you to oversee the trades that I have under contract, to be there for inspections, to receive deliveries, to pick up items from the hardware store, and to unlock/lock up as needed. The weekly payments are "cash" (no other benefits, but no tax withholdings and I won't 1099 you). I'll create an agreement for us to both sign before starting, but be advised some improvisation will be necessary (i.e. I haven't listed every little task that might need to be done along the way).
