Job Description:
As a Barista at Urban Grind Coffeehouse, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for delivering an exceptional coffee experience to our valued customers. While prior barista experience is preferred, it is not required – we value enthusiasm, a love for coffee, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Provide superior customer service, ensuring each interaction leaves a positive impression.
- Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee beverages with precision and care.
- Take initiative to engage with customers, offering recommendations and upselling additional items when appropriate.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Complete daily side tasks to maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffeehouse.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting fellow team members.
- Greet customers in a friendly manner, take food and drink orders
- Answering customers’ questions about coffee, tea and other menu choices
- Taking payments from customers through the POS system
- Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, and troubleshooting
- Keep the work environment clean and safe, and organized
- Responding to and resolving customer questions and complaints
Requirements:
- Passion for coffee and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail to manage specific customer requests as well as produce products with minimal errors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently alone and with other Baristas
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not required.
