Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Atlanta, Georgia. You will be part of our team, working in the telecom industry, handling a variety of accounting tasks. The role entails a wide range of responsibilities from processing journal entries to producing financial statements, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.Responsibilities: Preparing complex journal entries and account reconciliation including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll. Preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting. Assisting in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation. Assisting in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP. Maintaining capital lease and monthly payment schedules. Maintaining fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation. Having in-depth experience with month-end balance sheet account reconciliation. Performing month-end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision. Managing recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation. Handling intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation. Analyzing and coordinating a variety of financial data, and reporting it in a useful and understandable manner. Participating in various department-wide initiatives. Handling ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Experience with Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and oversight Ability to prepare and record accurate Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using NetSuite for financial tasks and reporting Knowledge and expertise in Oracle for financial management Experience with QuickBooks for accounting operations Familiarity with SAP for finance and accounting processes A relevant degree or equivalent experience in accounting or a related field Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
