Configures and manages all network equipment and systems including hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Maintains user accounts or security policies on software and hardware-based firewalls, routers and switches. Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.Role and Responsibilities:

CDC - Network Data Services Team supports networks which include network infrastructure, file servers, satellite communications, and messaging systems.

Provide Level 2 and 3 technical services to US - CDC campuses.

Install, integrate, upgrade, operate, administer, and monitor the LAN operating systems, and servers in a Microsoft environment (CCNA - CISCO certified network associate required).

Configure, install, and implement applications and software available on the LAN file server. Configure disk subsystems to ensure efficient storage utilization and backup.

Maintain utilities for network management and audit trails.

Providing communications and presentation, ability to speak to CDC management staff and customers.

Travel to domestic locations - 25%

As a Network Administrator, you will provide support to staff on a daily basis including the administration, maintenance, and problem-solving for network systems.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience)

4+ years' experience evaluates emerging network technologies

4+ years of experience as a systems engineer or network engineer in a large enterprise environment

4+ years’ experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco routers and switches including the latest Cisco routers and latest Cisco switches

4+ years’ experience installing, troubleshooting, and configuring firewalls

Demonstrates knowledge of implementing and managing provisioning suites (e.g., DHCP, DNS)

4+ years’ experience using network analysis tools (network sniffers) to assist in identifying and resolving problems on-site and remotely is required

2+ years Meraki Wireless experience helpful, equivalent CISCO wireless experience is acceptable

Working knowledge of group dynamics

Must be a US Person (Green Card Holder/US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, US Citizen)
