Position: Manager, Procurement COELocation: Atlanta, GAReports To: Sr. Manager, Procurement COEAbout Enterprise Procurement:The Enterprise Procurement function at Newell Brands is responsible for managing an estimated $6.0B in Sourced Finished Goods, Direct Materials, Indirect Services, and Transportation spend, managing supplier relationships, driving strategy, and enabling the importation and continuity of supply. Additionally, the team is accountable for ensuring ethical, responsible sourcing practices, maintaining compliance against contracts, and optimizing the global Real Estate portfolio.About the Procurement Center of Excellence:The Newell Brands Procurement Center of Excellence is tasked with supporting the strategy of the Enterprise Procurement group in cost optimization and risk mitigation through strategic sourcing process execution, data-driven ideation, reporting of key KPIs (PMO), and continuous improvement. The Procurement COE provides analytical, process, and strategic support to the Procurement function in order to maximize the delivery of value across Newell’s diverse portfolio of categories. The Procurement COE provides visibility across all areas within Procurement, exposing members to a variety of categories, brands, and products, while building fundamental skills needed for career development opportunities. This is a high-performing team, which offers direct exposure to leadership, both within and outside of Procurement.Summary:In this role, the Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing strategic Procurement programs, including but not limited to: oversight of strategic sourcing project execution, opportunity analysis, and other ad hoc workstreams across four main Procurement towers (Sourced Finished Goods, Direct Materials, Indirect Services, Transportation). The Procurement COE Manager will have significant responsibility for supporting the macro-level analysis of Procurement-related activities at a companywide level to further the Procurement group’s strategic vision. Within the COE, the Manager will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, leading a team of direct reports, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. The Manager will be responsible for developing multiple direct reports and maintaining strong relationships with category stakeholders while executing projects/workstreams.Responsibilities:· Work with Category Sourcing to understand category strategies, identify areas of opportunity, and plan support for upcoming projects· Demonstrate cross-tower expertise of the Newell Strategic Sourcing Process and work with Tower leads and Category Sourcing teams to ensure adoption and implementation of the process· Lead project reviews and status updates, demonstrating a deep level of understanding around assigned projects· Develop a deep level understanding of the data under analysis, focusing on ensuring the right balance of accuracy and completeness with timely delivery of required information· Oversee the ideation process and related workstreams, using data and process knowledge to support tower-level project ideation and unlock opportunities to build the Procurement funnel· Assist Senior Manager in compiling materials for Procurement strategy sessions and tower deep dives· Run independent special projects/or program manage strategic Procurement workstreams as requested by senior leadership· Lead a team of direct reports and be accountable for team members successfully creating, managing, and supporting RFx execution, including post-activity reporting and analysis· Manage development of direct reports through day-to-day coaching, performance management, long-term career development, and other related responsibilities· Navigate seamlessly throughout the organization, fostering relationships with partners throughout the business to support data requirements· Develop, manage and/or own relationships with key stakeholders across the businessQualifications:· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or related technical field required· MBA or Master’s degree in related technical field preferred but not required· 5-7 years of experience in Procurement, Logistics/Transportation, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or related fields (consumer products experience preferred)· Possesses strong analytical skills and demonstrates proficiency in navigating technical applications (e.g. Excel, Power BI)· Feels comfortable manipulating large, complex data sets and is able to leverage analytical skills to drive and influence business decisions· Experience in both supervising, building, implementing, and running various market events (RFx); SAP Ariba and Coupa Sourcing Optimization (CSO) experience preferred but not required· Demonstrates effective problem-solving and project management skills and strives for continuous improvement· Demonstrates strong business financial knowledge· Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills in creating executive-facing presentations and other high-quality deliverables, with extreme attention to detail· Showcases maturity of being comfortable presenting to executive-level stakeholders and other cross-functional leadership· Manages constructive and cooperative working relationships, often without introduction, and is able to function effectively on a team; displays leadership qualities· Acts as a role model direct reports and other Analysts within the team by providing coaching and guidance· Demonstrates self-confidence and integrity in a challenging work environment; acts as a self-starterShows initiative in taking ownership over new responsibilities, pushing boundaries, and challenging the status quoNewell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Graco, Coleman, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Yankee Candle, Paper Mate, FoodSaver, Dymo, EXPO, Elmer’s, Oster, NUK, Spontex and Campingaz.
