Construction Estimator - Public Sector

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our talented team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal individual will be a good communicator and a team player with a good foundation in cost and estimating.  Responsibilities: Developing cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design. Supporting Client land acquisitions. Delivering and presenting updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones. Reviewing proposed design changes/new technologies and preparing estimates within appropriate accuracy levels. Understanding design stages and estimate levels. Providing commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises. Preparing cash commit forecasts for the construction life cycle. Working collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/ cost plans. Analyzing labor markets and cost drivers such as unions & tax. Supporting our clients with monthly presentations. Delivering Life Cycle Costing models. Benchmarking integration to ensure accurate data capture. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.   Key AttributesPerform accurate quantity surveys for all types of construction systems and materials.Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all types of projects.Maintain a library of historical labor rates, equipment rental rates, and material cost.Assist with the maintenance and conformance of existing data bases and libraries.Assist with the intake, distribution, and archiving of estimating assignments.Assist with the review of proposed change documents and pricing as assigned.Assist with project document constructability reviews.Attend meetings as assigned.Make site visits with project/construction management as appropriate.Performs work in a safe manner and actively encourage others to comply with safety rules and regulations.
