Job Description: Ohio University College of Business, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Graduate Career Management in our Graduate Programs department. The position is based on campus in beautiful Athens, Ohio and is expected to begin in February 2025. An on-campus presence is required but a limited flexible workplace may be an option.The Assistant Director of Graduate Career Management is responsible for providing career coaching for all current residential graduate students across MBA and Specialty Masters programs as well as engaging alumni of these programs to provide career support for current students. This position is responsible for preparing graduate students for their full-time job opportunities by enhancing students’ professional development through career coaching, high quality career management seminars, and by connecting current students with alumni for mentoring and career opportunities. This position is expected to remain current on recruiting and hiring practices, employer needs, and trends affecting graduate students. Primary emphasis is on maintaining competitive career placement statistics for the graduate programs. In collaboration with the BAACS employer relations team, work to identify, build and maintain connections with employers related to both undergraduate and graduate student placement. This position requires a strong leader, who is passionate about developing students, building effective relationships, and providing innovative solutions.Primary Accountabilities

Career Coaching & Programming: Provide career coaching to students by advising students on self-assessment, career and major exploration, resume and cover letter development, networking skills, interviewing and full-time/internship job search strategies. Enhance the overall graduate student experience by building strong relationships for career success. Identify needs and coach students to embrace their career goals, develop job search skills, develop their plan and engage in an active job search.

Employer Relationship Management and Programming: build and facilitate connections leading to recruitment of College of Business students; assess and refine annually. Provide high-level of customer service and support for employers to steward relationships and create career opportunities for College of Business students. Educate and advise employers on available College of Business student recruiting services and strategies of successful branding and recruitment within the College. Coordinate programming and events that create networking and career exploration opportunities for students and employers. Design activities and manage oversight for employer-related programming, including executing day-of operations, publicizing programming to students and employers, liaising with appropriate student organization, etc. Ensure employer programming is in line with industry hiring timelines and student event calendars. Partner with employers to develop tailored experiential programming including employer campus visits, presentations, and/or networking events.

Research and Reporting: Develop efficient methods to track student data, quantify success rate of employer-related programming and articulate value received by students. Utilize databases to prepare statistical reports on employer outreach efforts in context with placement rates, including program exit surveys. Summarize and present information at knowledge-sharing meeting with Associate and Assistant Deans.

Develop and manage implementation of graduate career seminars, which includes data driven decisions from analyzing surveys and capturing feedback to improve sessions. Build engagement with employers through networking events for all residential graduate populations to build positive signature experiences.
