Learn more about the OHIO experience at https://www.ohio.edu/forever and consider shaping that experience by applying for this role!LEADERSHIP PROFILE & POSITION SUMMARY Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Transfer and Dual Enrollment, the Admissions Advisor represents Ohio University both on- and off-campus to a wide variety of constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary school personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Plans and implements recruitment activities for an assigned territory or population, including programs and travel activities around Ohio and nationally. Coordinates and contributes to the success of initiatives designed to identify, attract, admit, and enroll students in Ohio University’s undergraduate programs. The Admissions Advisors work will play a critical role in fulfilling OHIO’s commitment to reducing barriers to education, supporting an inclusive campus community, and building a sense of belonging for all. The anticipated focus of this position will be to work primarily with transfer students.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Development and Execution of Recruitment Plans in Assigned Recruitment Territory: Plans, coordinates, implements, and assesses on- and off-campus efforts to support recruitment, admission, and yield efforts. Manages effective and efficient engagement experiences for prospective students, their families, and their influencers. Supports the development of and adherence to budgets and project timelines. Manages relationships within and/or conducts recruitment travel on a frequent basis within assigned territory in an independent and professional manner for extended periods of time and initiates, develops, and maintains relationships with constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection processCounseling and Advising on Admissions and Enrollment Processes: Counsels and advises constituents on a range of admission and enrollment processes. Maintains thorough knowledge of policies and trends in the field of admissions, and advises constituents on the breadth and depth of opportunities available at OHIO . This advising occurs primarily through in-person information sessions, individual appointments, phone calls, e-mails, online chats, and interactions within the University’s constituent relationship management system. As assigned, coordinates and contributes to the success of other initiatives designed to identify, attract, admit, and enroll students in Ohio University’s undergraduate programs.Evaluation of Admissions Materials: Evaluates applications and supplemental materials for the purposes of making admission decisions. Conducts thorough, holistic, selective review of an applicant’s candidacy. Determines necessary documentation to support an admission decision and recommends appropriate alternative pathways when admission cannot be offered. Serves on the Committee Review Panel, representing and deliberating concerns about applicants’ candidacy. Monitors and analyzes historical and current recruitment and admission data and trends, and uses that information in decision-making.Collaboration with University Partners: OHIO is committed to collaborative success throughout the University. Therefore, serves as liaison to an assigned academic and/or administrative unit to facilitate integrated recruitment and admission functions and resolve issues of competing priorities. Initiates, develops, maintains relationships with constituents within the unit, possesses an awareness of needs and provides optimal service in fulfilling those needs. Monitors progress toward recruitment, admission, or yield targets for assigned academic programs or populations, and proposes action or adjustments as needed.PLEASE NOTE : RESPONSIBILITIES VARY SEASONALLY ACCORDING TO THE RECRUITMENT AND ADMISSION LIFECYCLE FOR A GIVEN TARGETED POPULATION OR ENTRY TERM AND THE NEEDS OF THE OFFICE .Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree conferred by start date and at least one year of experience. Candidates must have the ability to travel independently.Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a master’s degree are strongly preferred, but not required.
