On-site interview and orientation in Melbourne, FL 32904)Pay- starting at $22/hour -Depends on experienceEmployment Type: Temp to HireHours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mon-FriJob Summary:We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team, responsible for the planning and procurement of assigned production, non-production MRO materials, and new product introduction (NPI) material requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with made-to-print items, raw PCB procurement, and electronic components.Responsibilities:
Manage moderate and complex commodities in SMT manufacturing and full box build environments.
Develop and implement solutions to situational management issues.
Plan material purchases based on MRP requirements to ensure materials are delivered on time to meet production schedules.
Send out Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain an exceptions report.
Manage supplier-related issues, including material discrepancies concerning quality, quantity, and price.
Collaborate with Program Managers to address quality issues and meet pricing requirements.
Negotiate cost and lead time reductions for assigned commodities.
Provide input to the ECO planning process and implement part changes.
Identify alternative sourcing for materials and address tactical issues and concerns.
Represent focal materials in new customer implementation strategies.
Participate in new product team meetings and create ad-hoc material management reports as needed.
Manage inventory turns/model budget and propose/implement inventory reduction strategies.
Resolve discrepant materials (MRB) and return material authorizations (RMAs) in a timely manner.
Maintain tracking reports and metric charts to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Interface with Engineers and Supplier Quality teams, including MRB resolution.
Qualifications:
Experience: Required experience with made-to-print items, raw PCB procurement, and electronic components.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 8+ years of related experience in purchasing electronic components for PCB assemblies.
Certifications: APICS CPIM or other relevant purchasing certification is a plus.
Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the material planning and procurement process; strong understanding of assigned commodities and major suppliers in the industry.
Systems: Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems; experience with INFOR Syteline preferred. ISO certification is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including contract writing.
Skills: Strong contract negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills; proficient in business applications such as Email, Excel, and Word.
Work Ethic: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
