We are seeking a motivated and organized Program Assistant to support our team in delivering effective programs and services for seniors in. The ideal candidate will have a passion for recreational activities and a strong ability to manage various tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. The Program Assistant will play a crucial role in program development, data collection, and outreach efforts. The Program Assistant will support the Program Manager with any tasks of delivering the program as well as personal care. Experience with activities in an assisted living or other senior care facility would be a plus.
The Program Assistant essential job duties include:
Delivering the Elder-Well method, structured program content and therapies.
Coordination, supervision, and participation in all aspects of the daily
program (activities, meals, outings, cleanliness, and organization of site,
etc.).
Overseeing safety of guests, emergency plans, and standard operating procedures.
Assisting with facility cleaning and organizing.
Assisting with the daily food service (preparation, service and clean-up).
Providing ADLs and medication management as needed to guests.
Monitoring guests for health and wellness.
Communicating with family and professional caregivers.
Reviewing, implementing, and suggesting updates for care plans.
Monitoring inventory for facility, activities, meals, and general program supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
The performance of the essential job duties of a Program Assistant requires the ability to perform
certain physical tasks from time to time. As such, all Program Assistants must be able to meet the
following physical demands (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Facility and stamina to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
The ability to walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to reasonably prevent elopement or give chase (running) as necessary
to ensure safety.
Physical strength and agility to push, pull and lift an object weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to properly hold/transport and utilize quick body movements in
accordance with approved protocol.
Facility to see and read printed materials.
Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.
Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal
conversation in person.
Additionally, Program Assistants must have the following competencies:
Mental acuity to make sound decisions and judgments in the sphere of assigned duties,
and to make determinations relative to the effective performance of the tasks.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (“CNA”) credentials (a plus)
-Must pass a Level II criminal background check.
- Must have verifiable work references.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification ( a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Spanish a plus.
- Must be consistently present and punctual.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.49 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
