Prep Cook/Line Cook
Rate:
$16 - $19 (Hourly)/ Part Time
JOB SUMMARY
The cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment. Work may include operating a grill, oven, or fryer. Previous experience in a team environment and various cooking methods preferred. Salary depending on experience.
Duties
Prepares a variety of sandwitch, fries, salads, wings and other food items for heating in broilers, ovens, grills, electric air fryer, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
Portions food products prior to heating according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convention oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
Prepares items for broiling, air frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
Closes the kitchen properly and follows closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen
Performs other related duties as assignment by the Kitchen Manage or manager-on duty
Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager
Inform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages
Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
Keep abreast of policies and procedures and current developments in local, state, and federal laws applicable to the service of alcohol, safe food handling, health standards etc.

Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel

Team player with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
Physical Requirement/Working Conditions
Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
Work in a noisy, fast paced environment
Move about the kitchen and standing for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
Must be able to withstand cold temperature when working
Must be able to withstand high heat temperature when working
Reach, bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
Lift and carry up to 60 pounds
