Description We are seeking a proficient and dynamic Risk Adjustment Coder to join our remote team. The chosen candidate will have an active CPC license, 3-5 years of relevant experience, and be available to start in October. This professional will be essential in shaping our company's coding protocols and safeguarding us from any unanticipated risks.Responsibilities:
Auditing patient health records to evaluate coding and compliance accuracy.
Conducting thorough reviews of medical records to ascertain accurate assignment of ICD-10 CM and CPT codes.
Verifying that coding for services, diagnosis, and procedures follow the regulations and guidelines set out by Federal and State laws.
Enhancing relationships with medical professionals through communication about coding guidelines, updates, and changes.
Quality checking coding and validating risk adjustment data to ensure integrity and accuracy.
Ensuring accuracy of hierarchical condition category (HCC) assignments.
Working with team members to develop and implement strategies that improve coding outcomes.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of solid experience as a risk adjustment coder
A
ctive Certified Professional Coder (CPC) license
In-depth understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Proficient with ICD-10 CM and CPT coding
Experience with coding software and health record systems
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities
High level of discretion to handle confidential data
Solid communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently without constant supervision
