Title: Director Strategic GrowthCompany: TECO PartnersState and City: Florida - TampaShift: 8 Hr. X 5 DaysWHAT YOU'LL DO:The Dir Strategic Growth responsibilities include strategic planning, managing, and developing the Commercial & Industrial sales organization, strategic customer interaction, and leveraging data and technology to improve business development effectiveness. Create, and execute, the department’s go-to-market and operational strategies. Build and maintain internal relationships with the Fuel Supply and Development team, partnering on large strategic initiatives such as regional growth, military, and ports strategies. Partner with Engineering and Construction, Finance, Strategy, Marketing and Communications, and Regulatory to accomplish organization strategies. Lead the business segment to include customer segmentation, profitability analysis, understanding of customer satisfaction drivers, and analysis of economic data to inform strategic sales targeting.DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Translate the company’s strategic goals into effective strategies and objectives that will drive the company’s new revenue growth in the C&I market. Responsible for building a strategic plan for the C&I market and executing the plan by managing and growing key relationships with large, strategic C&I customers and service providers across the state. (25%)
Work across all business units to develop natural gas solutions that enable customers to meet their operational, resilience or sustainability goals. Build, and strengthen, business relationships with C&I customers, vendor partners, and internal stakeholders, to create opportunities for growth. (25%)
Monitor public policy, incentives and subsidies that promote the growth of natural gas solutions for customers, includes working with federal and state agencies, investor-owned utilities, public power agencies, key industry associations and key municipal authorities. (20%)
Ensure a CRM database of existing customers and new prospects is maintained, and work with team members to maintain monthly growth pipeline reports. Partner with the Business & Customer Insights team to provide insights to the executive team on a regular basis to provide visibility of the growth pipeline and associated expected returns based on performance of customer segments. (10%)
Work with the External Affairs, and Fuel Supply and Development teams for insights into key market and economic development opportunities across the state. (10%)
Work closely with the strategy, marketing, communications and customer experience teams to maintain superior levels of customer interaction and satisfaction. (10%)
SUPERVISION:Direct Supervision: Business development team memberIndirect Supervision: Leadership role on various projects and analyses.KEY RELATIONSHIPS:Key Internal: Engineering and Construction, Finance, Strategy, Marketing and Communications, and Regulatory. Fuel Supply and Development team. Key interfaces with all levels of leadership and other technical and professional staff across numerous areas of the company.Key External: Senior level positions with key commercial and industrial customers (existing and new), industry consultants and service providers, and representatives of other utilities, governmental agencies, civic associations, educational institutions, etc.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:Education:Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or other related field.Preferred: Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics.Related Experience:Required: 10 years in a business development, sales, marketing, and/or key account management in a commercial environmentExperience leading a business segment, inclusive of customer segmentation, profitability analysis, understanding of customer satisfaction drivers, and analysis of economic data to inform strategic sales targeting.Preferred: Experience in natural gas, or energy industry, business development, sales, and marketing, and/or knowledge of the Florida economy, geography, major centers, major business sectors.Experience with grid modernization projects and knowledge of Smart Grid, distributed energy resources, and energy storage technologies.Supervisory Experience:Required: 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience. Use influence and cooperation to provide oversight of team members in other departments to accomplish responsibilities.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA):Required: Ability to lead across departments and teams Ability to manage external stakeholders including customers and regulators Ability to influence top-level leaders for decision making.
