We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as DRC Workers. This position is part of the Emergency Management Team, providing vital assistance to displaced citizens affected by natural disasters, such as Hurricane Helene.

As a DRC Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals and families impacted by potential storm damage, helping them navigate recovery resources, and providing a safe environment within the Disaster Recovery Center.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist displaced citizens: Provide compassionate and attentive support to individuals and families utilizing the DRC due to damages or displacement caused by natural disasters.

Resource navigation: Help clients access available disaster recovery resources, including housing assistance, financial aid, and medical services.

Maintain safety and security: Ensure the DRC is a secure, welcoming, and organized environment, adhering to safety protocols and emergency management guidelines.

Information dissemination: Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding recovery processes, timelines, and available services to shelter occupants.

Documentation and record-keeping: Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed records of interactions and services provided.

Coordinate with agencies: Work alongside local, state, and federal agencies to streamline the recovery process and offer comprehensive support to those in need.

Crisis response: Be prepared to assist in crisis situations, including providing emotional support and managing conflicts if necessary.

Qualifications:

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-stress situations.

Experience working in emergency or disaster response is preferred, but not required.

A team player with a willingness to adapt and take on various roles as needed.

Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, during emergency activations.

Bilingual abilities (preferred but not required).
