Job Title: Pipefitter$28-$32/hr AND $100 per diem dailyOT AVAILABLELONG TERM PROJECTSMEDICAL DENTAL VISION 401KJob Descriptionin new commercial construction and be skilled in working with various materials including PVC, copper, and cast iron. This role involves assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. Perform underground, water, sanitary, and waste pipe installations.

Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures according to plumbing codes.

Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipes to required angles using appropriate tools.

Study building plans and inspect structures to determine material and equipment needs.

Locate and mark the positions for pipe installations, connections, hangers, and fixtures.

Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect leaks.

Assemble pipe sections using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering.

Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters, sinks, and toilets.

Engage in pipe cutting, pre-assembly, and installation of plumbing systems.

Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings.

Review blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine the correct work procedure.

Install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as necessary.

Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains.

Anchor steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience.

Experience working with PVC, copper, and cast iron.

Proficiency in installing fixtures, hangers, and pipe.

Ability to use basic hand tools.

Experience with domestic water and sanitary systems.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building codes.

Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. 15 times daily.

Ability to stand for extended periods and climb ladders and steps.
