The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observe and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.Pay Rate: $18.53 / hourShifts Available:Afternoon - Full Time 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Off Wednesday, FridayOvernight - Full Time 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Afternoon 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Wednesday - Off Sunday, ThursdayRequirements:

ValidDriversLicense With Clean Driving Record (In The Event Of A Driver Needed) Or Government/State ID

Must have 2 Years verifiable employment history relating to this position - ( Security, Healthcare, Customer Service, Military, Law Enforcement, Corrections)

Natural Hair Color

No Face/Neck Tattoos

Comfortable with Restraining When Needed, Dealing With Combative Patients

Comfortable Transporting Patients To The Morgue When Needed

Comfortable with heights ( you may need to assist in helicopter transports back down to the E.R )

Comfortable with needles ( you will need a TB test and required vaccinations where applicable )

Job Duties:

Transporting Patients To The Emergency Room

Patrolling: Walking the hospital grounds and looking for anything suspicious or concerning

Reporting: Notifying leadership or other security officers of anything important

Controlling access: Ensuring that only authorized people can enter and exit the hospital, and that no contraband or hospital items are brought in or out

Preventing crime: Trying to stop criminal activity, such as theft, vandalism, and disturbances

Responding to emergencies: Helping with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters

Managing issues: Addressing security issues with patients or visitors, and using verbal de-escalation skills to resolve safety incidents

Maintaining confidentiality: Being discreet when handling private information

Responsibilities:

Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity

Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals

Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed

Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment

Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility

Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency

May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue

Minimum Requirements:

Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles;

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only

Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification
