- Lead interviews and workshops to analyze the current business model and operating model to help define future business capabilities or changes in how key elements of the business work together
- Lead business architecture portion of business blueprints, including creation of business architecture visuals such as: value stream maps, service blueprints, business capability maps, organizational graphs, and customer/associate journey maps
- Collaborate with team members within the EA competencies to create a value-add services approach to the organization for technology investments and product development
- Provide business architecture direction and guidance to technology and business partners in the support of EA that starts and ends with a focus on delivering actionable recommendations to peers and leadership, so they can adjust policies, products, initiatives, and solutions to achieve targeted business outcomes
- Develop deep understanding of the business end-to-end, its products and services, and general business landscape
- 3+ years in a business architecture role where behavioral skills have been applied to help align the technology organization to the business strategy
- Bachelor s or Master s Degree preferred or equivalent working experience
- BizBok reference model exposure
- Scaled Agile methodology and Process Improvement methodology (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen) exposure
- 10+ years relevant work experience
- Proven ability to think about business processes outside of technology context
- Experience working with Products/Product Teams, User Experience/Journeys, Cloud applications and delivery, etc
- Consultative approach, including ability to analyze and translate needs into requirements and process flows
- Ability to synthesize corporate and business strategy and operationalize to link execution to strategy
- Ability to abstract what the business does into a coherent and cohesive business capability model
- Ability to abstract business flows and processes into higher level value streams
- Collaboration skills to work with product/business owners, corporate/business strategists, and other architects (enterprise, data, solution, infrastructure, and technical architects) to develop various views, viewpoints, lenses, mappings, assessments, and heat maps
- Communication skills to evangelize the discipline of business architecture up and down the corporate chain of command
- Persuasion skills to bring various teams to align around a common construct the business capabilities
- Ability to operate at a strategic level as well as drill down deep into details
- Thorough understanding of the concept to technology enablement lifecycle.
- Consultative; leverages effective working relationships to drive strategy

- The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions
- The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues
- Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
- Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
