- Serve as an expert consultant evaluation for functional teams, to assist them in anticipating, identifying, evaluating, mitigating and minimizing risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
- Apply mastery of IT systems security principles, concepts and methods, including state-of-the-art and emerging techniques and products, to recommend appropriate technical strategies to resolve complex and persistent IT security challenges.
- Provide assistance in resolving complex technical issues as they arise.
- Work closely with DHS components to assure appropriate project and resource integration are documented and justified.
- Implement higher-level security requirements such as those resulting from laws, regulations, or Presidential directives. Integrates security programs across disciplines.
- Review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks. Resolves integration issues related to the implementation of new systems with the existing infrastructure.
- Coordinate and provide expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents.
