Come Bring your technical expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and the safety of our Sailors!Serco has a challenging opportunity to work as a part-time Mechanical/Electrical Technician within our Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) group supporting NSWC (Naval Surface Warfare Center) PCD (Panama City Division) and the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) with primary position duties located in Panama City, Florida.In this role, you will be part of a local installation team to deliver final systems per approved design packages. Our team supports the full life cycle of Navy research and development projects with planning, procurement, engineering, technical, and testing support and has been recognized by multiple Navy customers for outstanding performance.Responsibilities:

Provide on-going technical assistance and support to organizational programs and projects which may include hardware assembly, electrical integration, and testing of systems in production environments.

Collaborate with operational levels of company management, engineering, and vendor stakeholders.

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain military hardware and equipment.

Identify, analyze, and repair equipment failures; request the order and replacement of parts as needed.

Conduct standard research on existing systems and make recommendations for improvement in design and operation.

Comply with security procedures in the performance of duties.

Travel as needed to meet customer needs.

Typically report to a production foreman, program manager, or head of a unit/department.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Serco Management and Government customers.

QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have:

High School Dipoloma/GED with 2 - 4 years mechanical or electrical technician experience

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Clearance (Post employment)

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist with project requirements.

Must be able to pass required training and physical examination to operate forklifts to move materials.

Must be able to support land and marine based testing in isolated environments if required.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite program

Ability to travel 10%

Familiarity with interpretation of technical drawings for mechanical assembly installations and electrical wiring is preferred.
