The Electrician Helper will be working under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, Crew Leader, and the Facilities Electrician. They should have existing experience working as a commercial electrician or electrician helper, with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The electrician helper will be assisting with various duties, so it would be helpful for the candidate to have a background in facilities maintenance, in addition to electrical work experience. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the practices, methods & materials used in construction or maintenance such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, masonry, concrete, HVAC and pool operations.
Electrician Helper Details & Minimum Qualifications:
Full-Time
Monday – Friday , 8:00am-5:00pm
Overtime availability and event staffing availability is required, based on departmental needs
$18-$22 per hour for a Helper. If an Electrician, with more advanced experience is identified, we can discuss pay further
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience is required in commercial electrical work
Commercial building maintenance experience preferred
Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of others
Good problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
Willingness to learn and ability to comprehend instructions and tasks assigned
Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors, both verbally and in writing
High School Diploma or GED
Journeyman preferred or candidate who is working toward Journeyman Electrical Competency Card
Electrical training at a technical or trade school is preferred
Must be able to pass a FDLE background check
Key Responsibilities:
Pipe bending
Wire pulling
Device installation
Lighting and ballasts changes
Underground work, digging with shovels, using PVC and installing J-boxes
Routine facility maintenance and other tasks as assigned
