Full job description

Summary: Assist Foreman with utility infrastructure inspection, maintenance, and/or restoration.

Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Operate in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing all required safety equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety vest, work boots) and following established safe work practices and procedures.

Carry equipment (e.g., hand tools, tarps) and supplies (e.g., paper, preservatives, coatings) to structure being serviced.

Utilize equipment to excavate and backfill ground material around structure.

Apply preservative and/or coating to ground line area of structure.

Assist with the installation of trusses for deteriorated structures.

Maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality workmanship, based on company standards and customer/project requirements.

Comply with all company and/or customer-required policies and procedures, including but not limited to a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace and Dress Code.

Operate company vehicle, including utility vehicles (UTVs), (if applicable and qualified through company program).

Assist Foreman with maintaining an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies, and maintaining vehicles and work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Foreman.

Education and/or Experience: No prior experience or training required.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: Must successfully complete the Osmose UTV

Qualification Program if operating a company UTV. Prior to operating a company vehicle, must

successfully complete the Osmose Driver Qualification Program and possess a valid driver’s

license, with no DUI/DWI convictions within the previous five (5) years. This period is reduced

to two (2) years if the applicant has evidence of completing a state-certified rehabilitation

course provided there are no additional moving violations in this two (2) year period. May be

required to obtain—or work under—a state-issued pesticide applicator license.

Technical Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two (2) and three (3) syllable words and to

recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to

print, speak, and understand simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two (2) digit

numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required

to stand and walk. They must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The

employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop,

kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50

pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may routinely

handle and/or apply preservatives and/or coatings. The position regularly works in outdoor

conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to poisonous

plants, insects, and allergens. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with

short periods of loud noise exceeding 85 decibels.

Travel: Varies by customer and/or region and can include frequent Monday through Friday

overnight travel throughout one or more states. Extended work weeks and overtime hours are

probable during peak work periods or for specific jobs. Must maintain consistent attendance

record and be available for work Monday through Saturday.
