The Strand is small neighborhood restaurant located on Mills 50. We opened in 2014 and have since become well known for our seasonal menu and curated natural wine list. Our team is a small group of close-knit individuals. We’re looking for folks that are passionate about food and community and excel in a lively, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
-Setting up station for service and stocking all necessary supplies.
-Preparing food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
-Cooking menu items to order in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Plating dishes and ensuring that food comes out simultaneously in a timely fashion and to restaurant standards.
-Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
-Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
-Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
We’re looking for:
- Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail when executing daily tasks

-Ability to follow directions and instructions
-Strong organizational skills
Education & Experience Requirements:
-One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
-High school diploma or GED
-Experience with various cooking methods and techniques
-Familiar with industry best practices
-Knowledge of industry health and cleanliness standards (must have a valid Florida Food Handler’s Certificate)
