Laboratory Technician

This Position is Contingent with Contract Award – Role is based on the Coast of Africa. This post is in support of a US Government Facility on the Coast of Africa. Using skills and expertise that you have honed will contribute to the success of future missions. The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) would represent International SOS on this US government facility. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The Medical Laboratory Technician looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests. Key Responsibilities:Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing. Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank. Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment. Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Performance of other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
