Sr. Customer Quality Engineer (Program Launch) (Salary Range: $123,400/yr - $138,500/yr): Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet quality standards by applying reverse Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) methods. Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including quality control, inventory control, logistics, and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Responsible for manufacturing processes and supporting the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Control Plans to reduce the complexity of product quality planning. Drive material, supply chain, quality, and engineering readiness for all NPI builds from concept phase to production. Act as primary liaison between OEMs, CMs, Suppliers to manage production risks. Analyze the potential risk analysis of the product and process using a systematic approach to detect, prevent, and reduce failures in manufacturing processes. Implement yield improvement and scrap reduction. Ensure product is fully validated and meets performance objectives. Facilitate the program launch by ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs by reviewing cross-functional PFMEA and Control Plan “Walks” to assess manufacturing practice versus requirements. Implement effective corrective and preventive actions with appropriate teams. Evaluate plant and customer feedback to understand real root cause determination. Report progress and the status of designs reviewing and providing feedback on Engineering technical documentation, including but not limited to customer requirements, tests, plans, procedures, and results. Oversee daily interactions with customer and conduct weekly synchronization meetings. Initiate phase gate reviews, ensuring the comprehensive fulfillment of all quality deliverables.

Possible travel 30% (Mexico, China).

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field. 2 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Quality Engineer, or a related occupation.

SKILLS: Must have:

1. Two (2) years of experience in Tier I or Tier II or OEM operations experience.

2. Two (2) years of experience in automotive quality engineering including Advanced Product Quality Planning(APQP) (on through to launch).

3. Experience with automotive IATF-16949.

4. Experience with AIAG Core Tools, including the following: PPAP, SPC, MSA, and FMEA.

5. Experience with VDA 6.3.

6. Experience utilizing problem-solving methods, including at least two of the following: Shainin, 8D, or Kepner Tregoe.

7. Experience with cost reduction and production processes using at least two of the following processes: Lean Manufacturing, Control Plan line walks, SQDCM implementation, or PFMEA analysis.
