Join our world-class, innovative team today.Position Specific DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for the oversight of NextEra’s dealings with the FAA’s Obstruction Evaluation / Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA) process. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge around the corporate portfolio of NextEra Energy Resources Development (wind, solar, and storage) nationally. You will continuously track all projects being proposed or developed and carry out necessary actions to prevent renewable projects from undue regulatory risk. You will be responsible for working directly with consultants to identify risk and ensure the success of individual projects, in addition to the overall success of the corporate development portfolio.Beyond these requirements, you will lead the timely approval of development projects from the FAA and DoD Military Aviation and Installation Assurance Siting Clearinghouse. You will be responsible for prioritizing projects in the approval process to ensure balance between the broader corporate portfolio and individual projects is maintained.The candidate can expect frequent interaction with NextEra leadership to convey both regulatory risks and requirements during ad hoc discussions, Risk Committee Meetings and CEO Vetting Reviews. Coordination with the project development, origination and federal regulatory affairs teams is also necessary to ensure success. Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders through external outreach activities is important and will dictate some travel requirements. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
