Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for drywall, metal framing, and concrete projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors, along with the ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial buildings with emphasis on drywall, metal framing, and concrete projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Take-offs: Perform precise quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine material requirements.
Bid Preparation: Compile and prepare bid proposals, including detailed scopes of work, pricing, and timelines.
Cost Analysis: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
Project Review: Review project plans and specifications to identify any potential issues or discrepancies, and provide recommendations for solutions.
Budgeting: Assist in the development of project budgets and financial plans.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and correspondence.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on drywall, metal framing, and concrete projects.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost factors related to drywall, metal framing, and concrete.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
