Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Jacksonville Florida
Shift: 7:30 am - 11:30 am - Part Time
Days: as required
Rate: $13
Job Description: We are seeking skilled Material to load and unload containers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient handling and movement of bags or similar packaging materials within our facility. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to operate various equipment safely.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments of bags and verify accuracy of deliveries.
Inspect bags for damage or defects and report any issues to supervisors.
Store bags in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
Retrieve bags from inventory as needed and prepare them for shipment.
Load bags onto pallets or containers using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
Ensure proper labeling and documentation of bags for tracking purposes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including sweeping floors and disposing of debris.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
Assist with inventory counts and audits as required.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a material handler or similar role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution setting.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Familiarity with operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling and inspecting bags.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry may be required.
