Systems Administrator

Description We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our network and systems infrastructure. This position requires a strong background in both network and systems administration, along with the ability to lead and mentor entry level team members. Responsibilities: Manage and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure optimal performance and security. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to mitigate risks and improve efficiency. Plan and execute server and network upgrades, patches, and migrations in accordance with best practices and industry standards. Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's data and infrastructure from cyber threats, viruses, and unauthorized access. Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to assess technology needs, recommend solutions, and implement new systems and technologies. Document system configurations, network diagrams, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in system administration and network security, recommending updates and improvements as needed. Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in system administration and network management, preferably in a Microsoft environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and Active Directory administration. Experience with network protocols, services, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking equipment and firewalls. Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. Experience with cloud services such as Microsoft Azure or Office 365 is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred. Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively.
