This full-time non-exempt position (from August - May) is a second shift position 11.30 am - 7.30 pm. This is a team position working in conjunction with first shift Chef. This includes operation of the kitchen, preparation of food, and furthering a positive member experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare food for residents and guest, adhering to food safety guidelines.

In conjunction with the first shift Chef, plan menus, factoring in members' preference and Nutrional considerations, design recipes and determine appropriate ingredients and specific individual serving portions for each recipe.

Supervise and prepare th food production line.

Provide direction to the staff and assist the House Director with supervision of said employees as appropriate.

Maintain a positive working relationship with vendors and alert the Director of any issues or concerns with vendors.

Provide any receipts of vendors orders placed to supervisor and verify orders received from vendors to ensure correct qu antities are received.

Work with a supervisor on food purchasing.

Maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene in accordance with, but not limited to all federal and state health laws, reporting any observed or reported problems to employers for immediate correction.

Maintain ServSafe Certification.

Maintain organized and clean work area/station.

Maintain adequate supplies and inform supervisor of needs.

Utilize any feedback from the members to improve menus.

Deep clean kitchen thoroughly prior to each vacation break

Utilize leftovers when appropriate. Label and date all food according to safe food practices,

NEVER REMOVE FOOD FROM THE PREMISES FOR CONSUMPTION.

Comply with all local and state and federal laws, policies and procedures and guidelines.

DEMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO USE MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT:

Dishwasher-steamtable, griddle, food warmer, gas stove/oven convection oven- steamer, disposal and computer.
