Natives of Corkscrew Nursery + Environmental is seeking to hire a (Partime or Fulltime) Environmental Field Technician. Our company provides turn key environmental services from wetland assessments, protected species surveys and relocation, exotic removal and preserve restoration, lake monitoring and enhancement, landscape design and installation, and a nursery to grow native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses for all different terrains across Florida’s ecotypes. It takes the plants to shape the life of the terrain. We are here to make that terrain and life better for us and better for those that follow. We as a company primarily work outdoors in all different environments with the mindset of improving and restoring the land we live on. We have grown from a paper napkin idea way before 2015 to a company that has 16 employees that work in different places that are at their strengths that strengthens the company.
We have grown with patience and hard work and want to add more hands to the mix to ensure we continue to provide quality workmanship and quality plants while educating the public and our neighbors. We dont want growth to cause us to be rushed and short with customers and quick on projects. We have prided our company on providing great customer service which superseded lacking in other areas as a new start-up company. Customer service has at the beginning been our strength and backbone by answering the phones, emails, face to face with the customers, to do anything attitude, patience in explanation, the customer is right, if they don’t want it I don’t want them to have it, if they don’t like it we need to fix it and make it right, people over plants, Ill try to find it, returning phone calls, accurate pricing, easy invoicing/payments, updated inventory, better plan growing, and zero arrogance.

Qualifications:
(+)Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
() 2+ year experience in biological/environmental consulting and field monitoring data collection, permitting
() GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) experience
Overnight travel of 2 days or less may be required on a project by project basis.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Must be able to carry 30 pound herbicide backpack
Knowledge of Southwest Florida Flora and fauna
Must be comfortable in multiple outdoor environments (i.e. swamps, beach dunes, pine flatwoods ecosystems)
Must be comfortable to work along lake shorelines and from small boat
Must be comfortable with the use of EPA approved Herbicides
Must be able to carry and apply EPA approved herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides in accordance with law and label
Knowledge of Southwest Florida Flora and fauna
Must be comfortable in multiple outdoor environments (i.e. swamps, beach dunes, pine flatwoods ecosystems)
Must be comfortable to work along lake shorelines and from small boat

Work Environment: This position will require a mix of office time and duties performed outside. You will be on your feet a lot walking, using 4X4’s, ATV’s, Tractors, swamp buggies, small boats, and other modes of transport to move through uneven terrain, wetlands, beaches, mangroves, and other types of challenging natural environments.
Typical work week is Tuesday through Thursday, and/or Friday/Saturday, times vary.
