Position Overview:

Doug’s Seafood is seeking a skilled and certified Cook who is passionate about seafood and dedicated to quality and consistency. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of seafood preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards. As a cook, you will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure all dishes meet our high standards of taste and presentation, contributing to the exceptional dining experience our guests expect.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook seafood dishes, following recipes and specifications.

Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation to delight guests.

Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are strictly adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of seafood.

Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service.

Assist in inventory management, notifying the manager of stock needs and rotating stock to ensure freshness.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.

Assist with cleaning duties, including equipment and kitchen area at the end of the shift.

Qualifications:

Certified cook with relevant culinary certification or equivalent experience in a seafood-focused restaurant.

Proven experience working as a cook, preferably with seafood or fast-casual dining.

Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.

Team player with excellent communication skills.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
