The Seamstress - Housekeeping is responsible for providing high-quality alterations to guests, team members, and Retail stores. This role requires extensive knowledge of various styles, fits, and fabrics, as well as the ability to work with both industrial and residential sewing machines and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform alterations on linens, including but not limited to bed sheets, towels, tablecloths, and curtains, according to established standards and guest requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and Retail stores to fulfill alteration requests in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and operate industrial and residential sewing machines and equipment, ensuring they are properly cleaned, oiled, and in good working condition.
- Keep track of inventory and order necessary supplies to support the alteration operations.
- Assist in quality control measures to ensure that all alterations meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and precision.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with sewing machines and other equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, Retail stores, and guests to understand alteration needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of materials and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with latest trends and techniques in sewing and alterations, and implement them as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor, preferably in a hospitality or retail setting.
- Extensive knowledge of different fabrics, styles, and fits.
- Proficiency in using industrial and residential sewing machines and equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as necessary.
