We are seeking a detail-oriented [bilingual] Settlement Department Clerk to join our First-Party Property Law Firm in Davie, FL. This entry-level position involves processing incoming settlement checks, ensuring accurate documentation, and aiding clients in receiving their settlement proceeds.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Verify and process settlement breakdowns
- Manage and document incoming settlement checks
- Draft and send general correspondence
- Coordinate check endorsements
- Track and follow up on pending checks and inquiries
- Contact mortgage companies for updates on check receipt and fund release
- Communicate check statuses to clients and public adjusters
- Compile and verify dismissal reports
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel; typing speed 45-60 w.p.m.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a professional appearance
- High school diploma or higher
Work Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (37.5 hours/week), with a one-hour lunch. This is NOT a remote position.
