Position Overview:
MIKA is seeking Kitchen Porters to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a deep knowledge of cooking technics, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
-Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
-Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
-Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops. Regularly remove trash and place it in designated containers.
-Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.
-Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.
-Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
-Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
-Adhere to all restaurant policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience as a dishwasher in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment preferred.
-Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
-Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
-Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
-Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.
-Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Working Conditions:
-Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
-Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
-Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
-Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 50lbs.
-Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
