Company Overview:
We are a fast-growing, design-driven company specializing in high-end custom stone fabrication and installation. Our projects range from bespoke marble tables to integrated sinks, stone fabrication and architectural elements. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support our Construction Manager in preparing accurate material take-offs and detailed shop drawings.
Position Summary:
The Take-Off Estimator & Shop Drawings Technician will play a key role in translating design concepts and architectural plans into actionable data for production and installation. You’ll be responsible for reviewing project documents, creating material take-offs, and producing precise shop drawings that align with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and interior design drawings
Assist with cost estimating and budget preparation
Produce accurate and clear shop drawings for client approval, fabrication, and installation
Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and installers to ensure drawings meet requirements
Maintain organized records of revisions, approvals, and correspondence
Flag discrepancies in project documentation and propose solutions
Support the Construction Manager with project coordination and timelines
Qualifications:
Proven experience in construction estimating and/or shop drawings (stone industry preferred)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or similar drafting software (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, Revit)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, and structural drawings
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience in the stone or high-end custom fabrication industry is a strong asset
