Specific position responsibilities:
Be able to identify the structural systems and their components (cast-in place and pre-cast concrete, structural steel, framing, etc.)
Be able to prepare quantities take-off (rough or detailed)
o Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify all concrete and masonry elements
o Accurately measure and calculate the quantities of required materials, including:
Concrete: foundations, verticals, and horizontal structural components as well as any miscellaneous involved.
Reinforcing steel (Rebar)
Contact forms areas, etc.
Eventually, steel framing and deking
Be able to prepare detailed material cost logs (concrete, rebar, CMU blocks, and miscellaneous)
Be proficient in working with the following software: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Revu Blue beam
Understand the basis of a project schedule and when the material price escalations apply
Be able to understand when the RFIs and project revisions impact the estimating process
Be able to prepare and defend Cost Analysis with their full backup
Be able to interact with a cohesive team, understand its (collective and individual) responsibilities, deadlines, and comply with them on time
