ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER NEEDED FOR STRUCTURAL INSPECTIONS. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE REQUIREMENTS AND THE SCOPE OF THE JOB:
Licensure: The inspection's must be carried out by a licensed architect or engineer who is authorized to practice in the state of Florida.
Scope of Inspection: The licensed professional is responsible for performing a visual examination of the building's habitable and non-habitable areas, focusing on major structural components. The goal is to assess the building's structural integrity and determine if a more detailed Phase Two inspection is necessary.
Reporting: After completing the inspection, the architect or engineer must prepare a report detailing their findings. This report should include any signs of structural deterioration and recommendations for necessary repairs. The report must be submitted to the Palm Beach County Building Division within the prescribed timeframe.
Compliance with State Statutes: The inspections must adhere to Florida Statute 553.899 and the Florida Building Code – Existing Buildings, which outline the requirements for structural integrity assessments of condominium and cooperative buildings.
