Position: Material Support Specialist
Position Overview:
Do you enjoy hands-on work and thrive in a dynamic team environment? We're seeking a Material Finishing Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in our operations. If you're ready to work alongside a partner, unroll media, mark, and cut it to length while hitting your 10,000 steps daily, this might be the perfect fit.
Responsibilities:
1. Material Handling and Trimming:
Bulk Roll Management: Jobs come on a bulk roll, typically containing 20 units per roll. The media is pulled from the roll and cut at marked intervals for further processing.
Layout and Cutting: Work with a team member to lay out multiple 50-foot media lengths. Ensure the material is evenly spread and aligned. Use precision cutting techniques to trim the media according to specified guidelines.
Manual Cutting: Some jobs require hand-cutting lengths with a ground-level blade. This involves repeatedly kneeling and bending. Physical stamina and attention to detail are essential for this task.
2. Equipment Operation:
Operate equipment such as a grommet press or other tools used in the production process. Training will be provided for candidates willing to learn.
3. Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
Promptly report any defects or issues to the supervisor to ensure corrective action is taken.
4. Team Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues across departments to maintain a seamless workflow.
Assist team members during peak production periods or as needed.
5. Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and production standards.
Qualifications:
Must be proficient in reading and writing in English.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to operate a grommet press or willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Physical fitness to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and repetitive movements such as bending and kneeling.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
