What You'll Be Doing
- Establish and manage team objectives, goals, and focus areas to achieve common goals, technical excellence and customer objectives consistent within allocated budgets.
- Be a role model by demonstrating integrity, partnership, technical expertise, and leadership behavior that is consistent with the company's values.
- Own the launch verication process providing independent technical recommendations on ight worthiness and technical risk.
- Collaborate closely and establish and maintain effective trust-based relationships with the Aerospace program ofces, Space Launch Delta 45, USSF Space and Systems Center (SSC) program ofces, and launch vehicle and spacecraft contractor personnel.
- Collaborate with the Aerospace Western Range Directorate (WRD) at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), California and across the corporation to facilitate required support and increased efficiency.
- Report on the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports.
- Bachelor of Science or higher degree from an accredited technical program in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or other applicable degree.
- Typically, 12 years of meaningful professional experience in launch vehicle/spacecraft processing, integration, launch system development, and launch operations.
- Proven understanding of launch vehicle and ground system interactions, integration and test activities, and launch verification processes, especially as they relate to launch site Mission Assurance activities.
- Demonstrated ability to optimally present results, deliver briengs, compose high quality technical reports and recommendations to senior-level management (technical and non-technical).
- Capability to identify and discern emergency conditions, don Emergency Life Saving Apparatus gear, and exit safely from elevated work areas.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain privileges to operate a motor vehicle on property under Space Launch Delta 45 and NASA Kennedy Space Center jurisdictions.
- Support off-shift work requirements and occasional domestic travel, as needed.
- This position requires ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Knowledge of Falcon launch systems, operations, policies, processes, and practices
- Awareness of Aerospace methods of operation
- Familiarity with Space Force ways of operating
- Experience in assembling and bringing to bear technical teams to provide domain expertise and customer support; and an understanding of the breadth and depth of Aerospace technical capabilities and resources.
- History of thinking through and evaluating potential outcomes, barriers, risks vs advantages.
- An excellent personal technical reputation and a sustained record of personal technical achievement and leadership.
- Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances.
